Introduction

Information about configuring the Portsdown transmitter to work with various Webcams will be posted here.

Logitech C170

Supported by the Portsdown in MPEG-2 SD mode, and in H264 SD mode.

Logitech C525

Response to v4l2-ctl --list-devices:

HD Webcam C525 (usb-3f980000.usb-1.5):

Response to arecord -l:

card 1: C525 [HD Webcam C525], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

When called by ffmpeg, it will provide images at 640x480 or 1280x720 at 24FPS. Audio is 1 channel at 48000 sample rate.

When ffmpeg is killed the camera unloads its driver and becomes unavailable. This can be resolved by calling "v4l2-ctl --list-devices" 3 seconds later.

Supported by the Portsdown in MPEG-2 SD, 16:9 and 720p modes, and in H264 SD mode.
