A Portsdown 4 can be set to use a fixed IP (IPV4, not IPV6) address if required. It is preferable to have the network router allocate a fixed IP address, but this is not always possible, so the facility has been added to the Portsdown 4.
Setting the Fixed Address
- Select "Menu 3"
- Select "Network Config"
- Select "Edit Fixed IP"
- Enter the Fixed IP address
- Enter the LAN Router Address
- Enter the DNS Server Address (often the same as the router address)
- You can then check the settings and touch the screen to get back to the Network Config Menu
- Touch the "Auto IP by DHCP" button
- The new settings will be displayed and the system will reboot when the screen is touched.
