Treasurer Role
The role of the treasurer is to oversee and perform the tasks required for the financial administration of the club in compliance with the club’s constitution.
The main responsibilities and duties of the treasurer include:
Acting as the primary account holder for the club’s bank, trading and savings accounts (currently the Lloyds current account, a PayPal account and a Teachers Building Society account).
Recording and payment of authorised bills, invoices and reimbursement claims.
Tracking the current account balance and transferring funds between the club’s accounts as required.
Keeping ongoing financial records and preparing accounts for examination annually.
Monitoring and resolving financial disputes in the trading account.
Advising the shop manager on shop pricing policy
Reporting on the state of the club’s finances at Committee and general meetings, and when requested by the Chairman or Secretary.
Advising the committee on financial decisions, especially where they might risk the club’s ability to meet its liabilities to creditors or members.
